The Practice and Politics of Urban Climate Change Mitigation and Adaptation Efforts: The Case of Cairo

Abstract Research on climate change mitigation and adaptation is pressing in order to understand its implications risks different urban areas. It especially critical for those who face high degrees of inequality the context an uneven state presence. This paper explorative investigative study which uses Cairo as a case. The focus mapping private sector efforts mitigating issues, specifically vulnerable groups have limited access public services. adopted approach where literature search bibliometric were used identify gap knowledge field architecture adaptation, followed by survey included conducting interviews questionnaires with stakeholders from investigate link between mitigation. part concluded that there huge Middle East Egypt when it comes research related built environment. results this revealed that—apart already ground—there no synchronization sector.
